The travel

25 Apr 2010

Whether it was laborious, after a week of waiting due to the volcano Eyjafjöll, the story of young baker trip.
My god that BMI are crap (if I may say so).

Firstly, I assure you, that, if we have not called BMI customer service 6 times, then no one has ever called, we called them simply to confirm the cat on the flight, so we called and called for each time the same answer: YES, it’s okay, your cat is confirmed.

Finally, all to tell you that when we arrived at Dublin Airport, the BMI agent said, “no, your cat is not confirmed, but you’re lucky, there is no death or humans rests on the flight so you’ll be able to travel with your cat.

In short, aftercheck-in  the baggage ensued interminable minutes waiting for the person responsible for animals to come back to Ginger for the plane, he did not come, and we had to go to the security due to time by leaving the cat to BMI agent.

BMI cabin crew gave me the ticket from London to Montreal, but Celia’s one will be issued in London alone, and, no worry the cat will be in transit to Montreal.

Once in London, we could not pass the connecting flights doors as Celia, without tickets, is not allowed.
We walked from the terminal 1 to 3 (15 minutes walk), to arrive at Air Canada counter. The agent asked me where is the cat? I told him, well, he is with you in transit, she said no, you must collect it with BMI (thing BMI agent forgot to tell us). An Air Canada agent spent close to 10 phone calls to find Ginger (worst case is that he can be transferred to quarantine). In the end, we had to go back to Terminal 1 and get the cat back to Terminal 3 to register him with Air Canada, (much more professional than BMI). He must come out of his cage to go to the scanner, and, put him back, obviously not so easy as Ginger is a coward.

Damn, we finally well traveled. We arrived in Montreal. Immigration has not lasted more than 30 minutes, then check out the chat with immigration as well.
