To move to ireland it was easy as we had the car and the ferry, but here, we have to find another solution.
- Luggage Exces? To expensive regarding the volume we have.
- Cargo? Fast as per plane, but still too expensive regarding the volume.
- Container?
That’s what we need! Ok, the delay is 6 to 8 weeks, but, at least we can bring our precious goods after a long discussion on what we’ll bring or not (poor me! )
Our solution choosen, we can now searching for THE right company. The problem is to find it from ireland, because all the forum and website I read were talking about removal from France. Ask to a removal company etablished in France a quotation for a pick up in ireland and you’ll have cold sweats.
Armed with my keyboard and my friend Google I’m ready to find it using the right keywords… removal company, shipping goods to canada, shipping personal effects… and so on.
I finally found some websites. Filling the form in one clic (thanks FireForm), and, a second on the sent button I’m ready for waiting the verdict.

Now that we have the visa, we are sure to leave, and, we have to think about giving up our irish life.
What is our most valuable goods? Our Car !!!! It’s the only goods we bought here, mainly to go to Dundalk for playing ice hockey and also to move freely in Dublin city center and shopping… because when you’re leaving here you learn that you can’t rely on oublic transport.
Let’s sell it !!!

I decided to take an appointment with an irish doctor recognized by the canadian embassy as there is one in Dublin South.
I left early home as I have to go to the opposide side of the city and do my best to avoid the traffic. I find quickly the doctor’s place and don’t wait to much.
He asked me the questions requested by the embassy and check my vision, height, weight, ears, tension and do the urine test before sending me to a private clinic where I’ll have to do the lungs X-Ray, blood test and AIDS test.
it’s 1pm, I’m done !
The doctor will receive the results back, and, will send them to the embassy in London without giving me feedback (only if they discover a disease).
I have to wait a least a month now !

I prefered taking an medical appointment in Lyon, France.
The full appointment takes usually the whole day because you have to wait in each services. I was really lucky, I started at 9am and finished at 11.30am.
The appointment consists of a serie of questions related to your daily life, your habits… and then the doctor check your eyes, ears, heart, weight, height, tension. Then you have to go to the blood test, sida test, lungs x-ray and urine test.
The doctor receives all these tests back and send it directly to the canadian embassy without giving you any comments. If they discover that you have a disease they tell you.
