Once the visa in the pocket, it was now the question of departure, which date? Which period? Which airline company? Can they take the cat?
Then, finally, we didn’t have the choice in the airline company as, after searching a while on the web and spending long minutes over the phone, it results that the only airline that accepts the pet on shirt haul from Dublin is BMI (english airline) which operates with Air Canada. So, we’ll fly from Dublin to London with BMI and, from London to Montrea with Air Canada.
Regarding the date, we choose the 16th april, because we wanted to land after the winter, and far from the summer, that is apparently the best time to immigrate. Each season has its own advantage.

Some of you might say, “you bring back a souvenir from Ireland”
Our cat, Ginger, red hairs, as a lot of irish, is cute, so cute, well it’s a personnal opinion. Yes, he’ll travel with us.
But it’s not easy to travel with a pet as many companies refuses to transport them.
In fact, we couldn’t abandon him, it doesn’t look like us, so we moved heaven and earth to find a solution that this ball of fur can travel with us.
We wanted to come back in France for 2 weeks, to see the family, check certains administration stuff and have some doctors appointments, but, unfortunately, none of the airlines companies accepted the pet in the plane (cabin nor haul), even the big ones as Air France (City Jet operates the flight Dublin – Paris) for the short flights. If you take the boat from Rosslare to Cherbourg you can bring a pet only if you travel with your car. But we don’t have a car anymore. And the most funny is that the pet doesn’t trvavel in your car but in a special boxe on the boat… ????
So, we’ll leave Ginger to his nany (the veterinary) until mid-april, date which we’ll flight to Montreal.
Dublin – London (with BMI),London – Montréal (with Air Canada).
